Many perceptions of home care began to shift in the year 2018 and now the industry is beginning to see a ripple affect of those changes. Home care was once perceived as “simple” care where non-skilled workers offered transportation, companionship and other services. Within the past few years agencies began to change this perception by actively offering more specialized care to their clients in several different areas besides senior care including Alzheimers, disability and other medical care.

This all stemmed from a high demand of specialized care but lack of service offerings by agencies throughout the country, but that isn’t the only reason. According to Home Health Care News specialized care accounts for over one-fifth of most agency revenue across the United States. Changes to Medicare will also likely allow for a larger variety of care services opening as well as it has also become easier for possible patients to receive care.
